CONTROLLING STRESS by using MEDITATION AND CREATIVE VISUALISATION
This workshop on stress reductions uses meditation and creative visualisation in order to help train you how to de-stress your mind and body in an instant. You can't change life, but you can change the way you feel about events and the way you deal with them - and that's the true key to success.
These are powerful tools to enable us to train our minds, which, historically, have never been under more stress – everything now is fast paced whether it is through media, computers, cell phones etc., and although we are infinitely adaptable, we need to learn how to deal with this, sometimes overwhelming, sensory overload. The UK has the longest working hours in Europe and we need to learn how to deal with this much pressure.
Without adapting, stress can lead to distressing, disabling symptoms such as anxiety attacks, dizziness, shortness of breath, phobias and a multitude of mental/emotional problems which, if not dealt with, can degenerate into physical disabilities. Professor Cary Cooper of Manchester University (an expert on Stress Management) said that 'Stress related problems lead to more days off than any other single cause, second only to back pain in the UK' costing us millions of pounds each year in days off alone and leading to more stress on co-workers who have to take up the slack.
Our mind is phenomenally more powerful than our body, lets begin using it to direct our whole life, including our stress levels in a very positive way.
Don’t think it can’t work for you, I see it all the time in my clinic based in Kingston upon Thames (London). Once the mind has been trained, then mental/emotional/physical health follows very swiftly.
The bonus is that you have greater clarity of thought and because you are calmer, you deal with situations in a much more productive way.
